Celebrating 5 Years: Christina Cumberland
It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years since Christina Cumberland became a Pepper! Her strategic thinking, attention to detail, and dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences has made a lasting impact on our team.
Scroll on for a fun Q&A and an infographic we put together to celebrate Christina’s Pepperversary!

1. Best part of working at Eleven Peppers Studios?
Definitely the people! I’ve had the opportunity to work with really amazing Peppers who are now great friends. Everyone is so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about what they do.
2. If you were a pepper, what type would you be and why?
A pepperoncini – I am (part) Italian and I’d like to say I’m also sweet but with a little bit of spice?!
3. What is your favorite 11p event?
The holiday party – it’s always a fun time and I enjoy spending the evening catching up with Peppers I don’t get to see often.
4. What is your favorite present ever received from 11p?
The backpack full of wellness themed goodies we received the evening of the holiday party this past year.
5. What is your favorite 11p memory?
I’d have to say the company cruise in January 2024. My husband and I had an amazing time on the ship and at both ports!
6. Name a Pepper you can always lean on for support or advice:
Kristen Price – She’s amazing at what she does, is a great listener, and is always ready to jump in and help when things get a little crazy. Whether we are at work or at home, I know I can reach out at any time, about anything!
I also need to shout out Maricel Savage and Belinda Miller – When I started with Eleven Peppers it was the beginning of the pandemic, and quite an interesting time to start a new job. Once we were back in the office full time, I quickly bonded with them. We worked hard every day and at the same time developed a really strong friendship that has lasted over the years, even though we haven’t always been in the same building and/or contract.
7. Name a Pepper whose work ethic inspires you:
Deb Williams – She is a strong leader, steps up to the plate any time it’s needed, and gives 150% to any project she’s on. Customers love working with her because she is laser focused and always delivers top-notch work (which always exceeds expectations).
8. My spice meter :
1. What’s your go-to Pelaton or bootcamp workout, and how do you stay motivated?
My go-to instructors are Kendall (sad she recently left!), Adrian, Callie, and Jess Simms – any classes they teach. I also meet some friends at our local gym on Thursdays for kickboxing which is hard but always a blast! I stay motivated because I love food and enjoy a good craft beer. 😊 But also for my mental health, for sure!
2. What inspired you to start crafting, and what’s your favorite project you’ve made so far?
I like the idea that what you create is unique and isn’t something just bought in a store that everyone has. My favorite project would probably be making coasters with tile and scrapbook paper. I have some in my house that I’ve used for years and gifted many sets to friends and family.
3. What’s the most unexpected place you’ve found inspiration for one of your Cricut creations?
I can’t really think of a specific place but most of my inspo comes from trips I’ve taken or being out and about and spotting something I want to try and recreate on my own.
4. What’s the best brewery you’ve ever visited?
This is tough because there are so many awesome breweries out there. I’d say Maui Brewing is up there (for obvious reasons) but other great ones have been Stone, Firestone Walker, and Sierra Nevada. Tröegs is my favorite spot that’s not too far of a drive.
5. Where would you go if you could go on your ultimate weekend getaway?
This will probably sound very basic but I’d have to say Nashville. I’ve never been and it’s been on my list for a while now. I hear there’s lots to do and also…good food and great live music? I’m in.
6. Do you have a favorite reality TV show, and what do you love most about it?
The Challenge. I’ve been along for the ride all 40 seasons that it’s aired so far. Each season has its own theme and I love the creative challenges they come up with each week. At this point I feel invested in some of the cast members that come back year after year (some have been on 20+ seasons).
7. Do you have any recently watched rom-com recommendations?
The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt – super cute!
8. How did you get into F1 racing, and do you have a favorite team or driver?
My husband watched Drive to Survive on Netflix and then started watching races a few years ago. I wanted to understand the sport and enjoy watching races with him, so I binged the show to learn more about the teams and drivers. Now I’m hooked. We go to our first race this year in Miami and I am pumped! I wouldn’t say I have favorite team or driver but I find myself rooting the most for Lando Norris (McLaren), Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes for years and Ferrari for the first time this season). So, maybe Ferrari will be my favorite team this year?!
9. What’s the best part about being an aunt?
I know I’m biased but my niece is the best! She is sweet, silly, so smart, and is just really fun to be around. Watching her grow up and learn new things is so cool! I’m thankful we live close by and can see her often.
